Terry Osterhout created the character of Lee Blackheart in the Spring of 2008 during an attempt to forge a new kind of story for fans of raw 1970's crime movies and thus Beating Blackheart, the first screenplay featuring Lee Blackheart was finished a couple of months later.

Terry's friend Jon liked the screenplay and the two decided to film a short film which Jon wrote after reading Beating Blackheart.

While Jon prepared for the July 2008 shoot, Terry Osterhout wrote two more screenplays featuring Lee Blackheart, Burying Blackheart and Burning Blackheart.

In July Terry traveled to Austin Texas where Jon and Terry co-directed Breaking Blackheart, a short film which takes place between Becoming Blackheart and Beating Blackheart.

The short was filmed over the course of a week with Terry playing Lee Blackheart.

Breaking Blackheart is now in post-production.

Terry is currently doing re-writes on the three Blackheart screenplays, and preparing to shoot another Lee Blackheart short film.
